Betty Rose

Things I loved about you:

You made the best roast potatoes in the world
You used to tickle my arm while we sat on the sofa watching TV
Your laugh was infectious
We used to sing all the way on long journeys
You always had those fruit sweets in a tin dusted with caster sugar and you always let me have the red ones
You let me rent grease a million times from the video rental store, you also let me watch a million times
You used to use pennies in your suspenders to hold your stockings up
You always let me sneak in bed with you late at night
You introduced me to pie n mash
As a treat we used to get Grandad to drive us to macdonalds for chicken nuggets
You passed your driving test but never drove and used to tell Grandad how to drive all the time. 'Big pedal Ted, big pedal' 'Give it the gas'
You used to give me babycham at Christmas
You always had red robins on the Christmas tree

I miss you every day! I like to pretend you are just down at the bungalow at st osyths and you will be back soon or I can come and play 3 card brag or new market with you at the weekend like we used to do! I bet that's where you are! Playing cards and drinking brandy with Uncle John, Uncle Charlie, Uncle George and your mum and dad! Win all the snow for me x x x see you in heaven x x x

Nanny White

Things I loved about you:

You were kind, warm and loving
You had silver white hair
You had rosey checks
You always smiled
You taught me how to knit
Even though I was your step grand-daughter you never treated me differently to all your other grandchildren
I don't remember you ever being cross or angry
You taught me the Lord's Prayer
Your kitchen always smelled of home baking
You had a pantry full of interesting things and you didn't mind if I touched them
You always wore a pretty floral apron
You let me style your hair and even do a bit of back combing!
You used to go to church every Sunday come rain or shine

I wished you hadn't been in so much pain, but I was glad I got to hold your had and say good bye one last time.  I know you are safe in god's hands and now at peace x x x x

New Years resolutions . . .

Better late than never with my New Years resolution which was to blog at least once a week on my various blogs! So far I have failed on this blog and that was due to how to go about it what subjects/themes to blog about when writing a letter to heaven but I think I have cracked it for this month and my theme will be why I love/loved you!

I will aim to write a post about my departed loved ones and why I love and miss them x

I am going to start with my Nanny White as I have been talking about her with my son today and he sadly never got to meet her as she passed away before he was born.

I will be back with reasons why I love u . . . . Nanny White <3

An empty space

Was left on this day 14 years ago.  Today you are remembered with love by all that knew you and even some that were not as lucky to have met you, like me.  I hear about you so often I feel I knew you and can only wish I had.  We wonder what you would be like now at the ripe old age of 34. Some say you would be a family man helping to run your dad's business and some think you would be the ladies man you'd always been living a fast paced high flying life. A life that was cut short that leaves many unanswered questions.  Sweet dreams Paul and one day I will meet you, but hopefully not to soon xxx

That old devil called love

Was playing on the radio today.  I have only ever heard this song once before and it was on a sad day.   A day I joined my family to say good bye to someone who was taken to soon :(

I'm sorry I didn't get to know you better and see you grow into a lovely young lady Louise.  I know your Nanny will be looking after you x

Sweet dreams xx

Please support  SADS (sudden arrhythmic death syndrome) in honour Louise.

bells that are blue remind me of you . . .

Dear Nan,

Its been a long time since I blogged and I just thought I'd say the Bluebells are out and reminding me of you! I have been doing a blog challenge for work and some of the subjects have brought back fond memories of you.  Bank Holiday's at St Osyth's collecting cockles and playing prize bingo.  Spring in the air and your favorite flowers are popping up all over the place.  I still think of you as just being 'at the bungalow' in my heart you will always be there xxx

I miss you xx

Love

All the bluebells are gone . . .

but ur still in my thoughts. We have Thomas home for a few day's and you are in my thoughts about how proud you would be of him now he is a man. The 1st Nuth to go to university!!! Watch over him and keep him safe on his journey home.

Your in god's garden now sweet Betty Rose, but we still miss you x

'God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, 'Peace be Thine'.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home'
